Kyrkhamn (Planned Nature Reserve) was Awarded the Urban Quiet Park Status on August 18, 2022

The nature of the area is strongly characterized by the proximity to Lake Mälaren and the landscape's geological history with fracture zones, faults and ice ages. Its current appearance has been shaped by man over a couple of thousand years.

Here there is an old cultural landscape with open fields and interspersed oak islets. To the west lies Lövstafjärden with Mälaren's deepest water. The eastern shore of the bay consists for the most part of steep cliffs with characteristic vegetation and in connection with this, many fine drylands. In the moraine slopes, alternate conifers and deciduous forests grow, but also several areas of noble deciduous forest type.

The hilly landscape provides an unusually rich range of different biotopes. In addition to the great variation in the area's flora, the fauna is also unusually extensive. Here there are over a hundred species of birds, a very large number of mammals and an eldorado for those interested in insects and other small insects.
